The Copper Basin graduation week has been in full swing as the 2021-2022 school year has come to a close. Slana began the celebration week on Tuesday, May 17 with the graduation of Linnea Beauchamp.

Guest speaker Linda Bates complimented Linnea on her many academic accolades and incredible archery achievements. Bates encouraged the young graduate to continue living a life of kindness and love towards others. Linnea plans to continue her education by studying biology at UAF this fall with the potential to minor in German.

On Wednesday, May 18 at the Glennallen Chapel the four young men of the 2022 Upstream Learning graduating class celebrated their final day as high school students. Graduates Landin Robinson, Jordan Korth, Matthew Hill, and Nathaneal Severs each gave a short speech thanking their families and communities for the roles they played in raising them.

After each speech, a photo montage of the graduates played in the background. The audience laughed alongside the graduates’ families as they recalled the fun and adventurous childhood years of these now young men. Guest speaker and local youth group leader, Mark Peifer, spoke to the boys directly by calling them up to a higher standard of manhood and encouraging them to go beyond what the world asks of them.

Before finishing the graduation, the young men passed flowers of appreciation out to parents, friends, and family members. The evening concluded with a celebration of cake and fellowship among the Upstream Learning community.

Congratulations to the graduating class of 2022!
