The Copper River 8U mites team outlasted 20 teams from all over the state to bring home an 8U State championship in the blue division at the annual Mac Attack Tournament in Eagle River.
Our local team went 7 and 0 over three days at the largest 8U tournament in the state beating teams from Wasilla, Palmer, Juneau, Homer, and Anchorage to reach the final. The championship match was a classic nail biter with Copper River topping Delta Jct. by a score of 2 to 1.
The Copper River 8U team finished the season with a record of 28 wins and 3 losses. Great job mites!
