Public Comment Opportunity on Dipnet Proposals

 Update: Discussion on FP27-06: McCarthy Road, Dan Creek and Kennecott Customary & Traditional Use Determination is time-certain for 4PM on the 28th. 

ANCHORAGE, Alaska–The Southcentral Alaska Subsistence Regional Advisory Council will meet September 28-29 at the BP Energy Center in Anchorage. The meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. on the 28th and at 9:00 a.m. on the 29th (AKST).

The Council will develop recommendations on proposals to change federal subsistence fisheries regulations, and discuss other issues related to subsistence in the Southcentral Region, including 2028 Fisheries Resource Monitoring Program Priority Information Needs.

 The public is encouraged to attend and participate in this meeting, and will have a chance to share their thoughts on current fisheries proposals and closures in the region:

FP27-06:  Add the McCarthy Road to Dan Creek and Kennecott in the Chitina subdistrict of the Upper Copper River District - C&T for salmon

FP27-07: Prohibit the use of dip nets within 500 yards below and 100 yards above any salmon bearing river or stream tributary confluence within the upper Copper River
