Close to sixty years ago the Class of 1969 graduated from Valdez High School. The 57th reunion was hosted by Governor Bill Walker and Martha (Kelsey) Rutherford and was held in Wasilla and Anchorage this year. This made it easier for those people traveling from outside of Alaska and other parts of the State to attend.
A dinner was held on Saturday at the Alaska Aviation Museum. Sunday the group met at Governor Bill Walker’s Cabin at Nancy Lake in Wasilla and enjoyed a great picnic lunch prepared by Donna Walker. We talked about experiences we remembered like Buccaneer Basketball, school trips, the 1964 Earthquake, and growing up in Valdez.
Sunday Martha (Kelsey) Rutherford hosted a brunch at her home in Anchorage before people headed home. We missed those who were unable to attend or are no longer with us. What great memories we shared!
