Richard Helton (1952-2024)

October 24, 1952 - January 24, 2024

In loving memory of Richard Allen Helton, born on October 24, 1952, and departed from this world on January 24, 2024.  Rick’s life was a tapestry of adventure, woven with threads of travel that led him to the rugged landscapes of Alaska over two decades ago. There, he found a home and embraced the untamed wilderness with a spirit as wild as the land he loved.

An avid hunter and self-proclaimed “king of the river,” Rick’s connection to nature was profound. His love for fishing was an unrivaled passion, and every cast of his line was testament to the joy he found in the simplicity of the great outdoors.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the Serovy Family, Honerlaw Family, Jimmy Horrell, Vince Rogan, Nathan Woodcock, Trooper Jason Somerville, and numerous others whose unwavering support allowed Rick to reside in his beloved cabin for as long as possible.  Your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten and we are forever in your debt.

As we say goodbye, we remember not only a man who lived life on his own terms, but also a man who found solace in the simplicity of a quiet riverbank and the majesty of towering mountains. His legacy lives on in the stories of his adventures, the camaraderie he shared, and the love he had for the vast beauty of Alaska.
