David Allen Rhodes, 1963-2023

Doreena Rhodes

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to David Allen Rhodes. He passed away peacefully on January 12.

David was born in Frankfort, Michigan on February 17, 1963. David moved to Alaska on a road trip with his uncle Dennis in the early 80s. Wonderful memories were made along the way. Once there, he lived with his dad and stepmom, Doug and Cindy Rhodes, owners of The Brown Bear Rhodehouse. He made a lot of good friends and had many great times there.

David loved the outdoors. Hunting and fishing, and poker runs. He enjoyed flying to Crosswinds with his friend Kurt Wilson. He worked hard on breaking the trail for the Copper Basin 300 with his dad.

He truly loved Alaska and cherished the life he had there. It’s there he met his wife. They lived there and later moved to Hope, British Columbia and had many happy years together. They raised four wonderful children: Angeline, Jessica, Daniel and Jack.

David was an artist. He made many beautiful drawings, cards, and crafts which he later sold. He loved telling jokes and making people laugh.

He is survived by his mother Karlin Mae Corey (Leonard); Sister Kim (Dennis); brother Mark; aunts and uncles, and many nieces and nephews.

He is now watching over his grandchildren Lindsey and James and all the rest soon to come.

He will forever be deeply loved.
